The Doshas and You

Understanding vata, pitta, kapha, and how they influence us can tell us a lot about ourselves. When one or more of the doshas go out of balance, we can feel it in our emotions, energy levels, digestion—in fact, in every area of our lives. Here are a few ways the doshas can manifest:

Vata Dosha

Excess vata can lead to fidgeting, racing thoughts, feeling anxious or fearful, and trouble falling asleep.

Pitta Dosha

Excess pitta can cause irritability and frustration, an insatiable appetite, and excess heat in the body.

Kapha Dosha

Excess kapha may show up as a lack of motivation, oversleeping, feeling sad or apathetic, and signs of stagnation in the body.
